Location

Tongyeong is situated at the tip of the Goseong cape in the heart of Hallyehaesang National Marine Park, which is spread over the southern coastal area of the Korean peninsula. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, its indented coastline and 526 islands (44 inhabited islands and 482 uninhabited islands) create exotic scenery unseen anywhere else. Dosan-myeon and Gwnagdo-myeon located on the north side is next to Goesong-gun and Geojae-si on the east is adjacent to the sea. Namhae-gun and the sea are at the west and there is an open sea to the south.

Background

The relationship being a sister-hood affiliation between Youngnam and Honam Regions, the two administrative organizations are hoping for mutual development through interactive exchanges and for true cooperation in preparing for the new environment of 21 century.

Location

Located at the east of Jeollabuk-do, Jangsu-gun is situated in the bordering provices with Geochang and Hamyang-gun. Imsil-gun and Jinan-gun is located to the west, Namwon City to the south and Muju-gun to the north. Jirisan's think mountain terrains and other beautiful rugged mountains like Jangansan, Deogyusan, Palgongsan, Daemangsan, Jandeungsan are also close by.

Regional Characteristics

Located at the center of the City of Busan, the region is adjacent to Seomyeon crossway, an important point that leads to every direction thorough Gayaro, Jeonporo, and Saessakro roads. It is also a place where subway line 1 and 2 cross so a large marketplace with modern facilities and various shops and restaurants are concentrated in this area. Since it is a spot of many roads running in all directions, it is becoming a center of transportation, commercial business, distribution, finance and information the center of 21 century Busan.

Through an affilication with an organization situated in Gyeonggi-do, Hapcheon-county is planning to expand the ranges of interactions with other new areas and to achieve mutual development in administrative, economical, tourism and cultural areas.

Regional Characteristics

Hwaseong is located on the southwest coast of Gyeonggi Province, the Midwest region of the Korean Peninsula. It borders with 7 cities on land while it borders by sea with the Port of Pyungtaek on the West Sea. It borders with Chungcheongnam-do at the Port of Pyungtaek and Woongjin-gun. It also faces Seongamdo and Daebudo. To the east, the city borders with Idong-myeon and Namsam-myeon of Yongin City and to the south with Osan City and Jinwi-myeon, Seotan-myeon, Cheongbuk-myeon, Psseung-myeon of Pyungtaek City. To the north, it borders also with Suamdong of Siheung City and Kiheung-eup of Yongin City.
